Falcon's Desire
Published in Paperback by Harlequin (01 February, 2003)
Average review score:

Wonderful Read!Denise Lynn weaves a spellbinding story of betrayal, desire, and non-stop action set in Medieval England. Caught between her father and her King's command, Lyonesse of Ryonne must choose a husband between two men. To chose right will ensure her future, to chose wrong will mean death for her family. I stayed up late to read this one, I had to see how it ended.
Loved this book!!!This book is wonderfully written. The characters are strong and well-developed. The story keeps you captivated from beginning to end. I would highly recommend this book, and can't wait for more from this author!

Average review score:

Handbook for Mortals is a must.Death comes to us all - whether it's sudden or gradual; whether it's our own or someone close - leaving this garment, quitting this life, passing on to the next Grand Adventure. In each chapter of this detailed, simply written, expressive & compassionate volume, are poignant poems, soothing photos & sidebars of lists to walk us through from Living With Serious Illness to Finding Meaning to Helping Family Make Decisions and Give Care; from getting the Help You Need to Talking With Your Doctor; from Controlling Pain to Planning Ahead; from Hastening Death to The Dying of Children to Enduring Loss & beyond. A huge crew of researching assistants from the Center to Improve Care of the Dying out of George Washington University, put this Handbook for Mortals together & the caring insights, profound realizations & ordinary instructions make for a really useful book you can pick up at any time & not worry about disturbing someone in the middle of the night or during their busy work day.
Handbook for MortalsI found this book days after leaving the hospital with a two year prognosis for a misdiagnosed illness. My head was spinning. I was making lists of questions and to do lists for leaving my 2 young children. Finding this book was a wonderful gift. It answered my questions and provided a realistic outlook for what to expect of a terminal condition. The book provides sample statements for calling your relatives and helps you to prepare for your doctor appointments. I visited a doctor today and I led the session and all of my questions were addressed before the exam occurred. This book should be recommended to all diagnosed with a terminal illness. Highly recommended book!
Very useful in a difficult timeI wish I had picked up this book earlier in my step-father's illness. Very useful for those who are facing illness or who love someone who is very ill, telling you the kinds of things to expect and ways of dealing them.

The Haunting (The House on Cherry Street Series Book 1)
Published in Paperback by Scholastic (June, 1995)
Average review score:

EMMERS' Review for THE HAUNTINGI first read this book when I was in the third grade and the way the authors described in detail the adventures of Jason (the main character in the book) in the creepy house that he had just moved into with his family nearly made me throw the book in the freezer out of fear. This is definitly a book that will keep the reader on the edge of their seat and their eyes on the page.
JOSHUA'S REWIEWI think this book was one of the most mysterious books that I have ever read. It was about a boy who moved to a grand old house on cherry street. It was a great place to raise children. Even ones from the dead!
ONE OF THE BEST YOUNG ADULT THRILLERS OUT THERE!!!!If your a teen who is sick of those stupid childish "scary" books, then this is the book for you!!! Nonstop horror from begining to end leaves you with a non stop thriller from begining to end!!! STRAIGHT FROM THE 14 YEAR OLDS POINT 'O' VIEW!!

Great book!I bought this book for my nephew who is named Hunter!
It's a great story--with a message, but not in a pushy way.
Peer pressure is a difficult subject to address; this book handles it superbly!!

Can a best friend, help his friend be his best self?As an educator of young children for over twenty-five years, I find Hunter's Best Friend at School by Laura Elliott to be one of the best books I have ever read, dealing with being true to one's self. All children want to be liked and often do things that they would not otherwise do, just to be accepted. Hunter and Stripe are such friends, yet with the help of his mother and his teacher, Hunter is able to set an example that encourages Stripe to be "his best self." This book is absolutely delightful and entertaining. The words, the illustrations, the message of being true to oneself is certainly needed in today's world. I read it to a Kindergarten class that was spellbound by the second page. The school librarian is going to order one copy for each of the primary classes at our school. My own grandsons, age five and seven, were touched by Hunter's example, with the five-year-old saying, "my eyes are getting wet from hearing that story" and the seven-year-old saying, "I have that problem with my friend." Out of the mouth of babes is a telling review of this wonderful book and I would encourage every parent and grandparent to include it in their children's library as soon as possible.
An endearing tale about being your "best self!"Ms. Elliot has followed up her acclaimed book for young adults, "Under a War-Torn Sky", with a charming new book for 2-6 year olds. My children love to hear about the little racoon's dilemma about following along with his best pal's naughty antics versus trying to inspire his friend to behave as his "best self." The story is wonderfully entertaining (my son walks around quoting his favorite characters' lines!), the illustrations are adorable, and the book teaches a valuable message for kids of all ages. Hunter has become my children's favorite book -- I highly recommend it!

Introduction to Financial Accounting
Published in Paperback by Prentice Hall (December, 1995)
Average review score:

Used it in place of my assigned financial accounting book...NYU's Stern School Of Business uses this book and its a well-crafted introduction to financial accounting. While taking accounting at the other New York business school, I deep sixed my assigned accounting book and instead borrowed my wife's. It coverage of topics and pedagogical flow are quite approachable and manageable. Struggling friends begain to purchase it for themselves. An excellent book. An interesting book as well. Case examples and references keep things interesting. Not just dry rules.
accounting study guide i want a complete bookAn Introduction to acconting, Assets, The time value of money, Liabilities and equities, financial Investment, Analysis, Role of accounting and Debits and credits
An excellent text to ease you into accountingAccounting is the type of subject that can ramp up quickly in difficulty, and this text plots a nearly perfect learning curve in getting the reader well-grounded in the fundamentals. I purchased this text as a requirement for a course, but it is a definite keeper and I would recommend it without hesitation to anyone interested in learning about accounting.

God Bless America
Published in Hardcover by HarperCollins (04 June, 2002)
Average review score:

God Bless AmericaThis comes with a CD of Barbra Streisand singing God Bless America - which is great (and I am not a huge Barbra fan). The illustrations are wonderful and do a great job translating the lyrics of this classic song.
The Best Patriotic Children's Book I've Seen YetMost patriotic children's books get sappy or trite ... but not this one. The words are merely the lyrics of the great song. However, the illustrations that bring those words to life create a wonderful, colorful celebration of our country, without being overly sentimental. They are so well done they stir up feelings nonetheless. When you turn the page to the fireworks over The Statue of Liberty, goosebumps are guaranteed. My kids loved the family trip across the U.S. This is Lynn Munsinger at her best! I highly recommend this book over any other I've ever seen.
Great book! This is a wonderful picture book. I am using it for second language learners during summer school. This also appeals to the musician in me. I plan to play the CD of God Bless America while showing the book to the students.

Hoodwinked
Published in Paperback by PublishAmerica (15 May, 2002)
Average review score:

TO LOVE OR NOT TO LOVEBeth's skittish. Blaine's mulish. Together they are an engaging, entertaining couple. She's not sure she wants to get involved, having been burned before. He's determined to accept nothing but absolute commitment. Theirs is a romp through a courtship that'll have you turning the next page to see where it leads.
The only thing I looked for that I didn't catch was a wee bit of early-on push-back on Beth's part. This would've cemented the excellent tension I could sense always under the surface throughout almost the entire book.
If you enjoy well-developed characters & a new twist on traditional romance, you'll certainly have a good time reading HOODWINKED.
Absolutely delightfulA delightful tale of love at first sight. Beth doesn't want anything to do with Blaine, but he thinks otherwise. He's in love and that's all there is to it. Watch him plot and scheme to ensure the object of his affection discovers that she too has feelings for him. Ms. Lynn writes with snappy dialogue, sizzling love scenes and pages that pretty much turn themselves. Don't start this book early in the evening, because you won't want to put it down!
Midwest Book Review - spicy romp, stand out charactersReaders who enjoy spice in their romance novels, and healthy sexual interplay that would melt granite, owe it to themselves to read Hoodwinked. This light hearted romp is delightfully sexy with snappy dialogue and stand out characters. Jennifer Lynn writes with humor and warmth and this book was a real treat to read.
Beth Romano has been devastated by a faithless man who was more to her than simply lover. When Blaine Everett comes along and proposes on a blind date, she's understandably reluctant and more than just a little fearful of his blatantly masculine approach. In Blaine, Ms. Lynn has created THE most deliciously attentive would-be lover any female could imagine. From day one, Blaine proposes marriage and proceeds to plan towards that end despite Beth's protestations. The fun is in how he single mindedly steers her to the altar and, eventually, his bed. Beth has been hoodwinked by a bright and sexy, quite successful man who isn't used to losing anything he wants. And Blaine wants Beth, for life as his wife and nothing less.
This was a thoroughly enjoyable book and Jennifer Lynn is a name to remember. I'm betting Hoodwinked is just the first of many such novels from her creative mind and I can't wait to read the next one!

How the Experts Win at Bridge
Published in Paperback by Jordan Pr (December, 1996)
Average review score:

How to become an expert ..Well not quite, but almost there. This book, more than most, really lays out the mindset and strategies of expert bridge players. The chapter on the "5 lines of Defense" is itself worth the price of the book, and can be used by anyone, even beginners. If you are an intermediate player, just go buy this book! If you're just starting out in bridge, read a few beginner books and then come back to this. This is an amazing book!!
UnparalleledThe title of the Book made one wonder if there is really something common among experts. Being no expert myself, I was curious, too, to find that out. This book illustrates the fine points separating good players from experts in all aspects of the game. When I was reading the book, many deals started flowing through my mind and I realized that had I read this book earlier, I could have easily impromved my results. This book is highly recommended to all those players who want to take that final step to being called "expert".
How The Experts Win At BridgeThis book has helped my overall game more than any other bridge book. I particularly benefitted from the concepts of "getting your bid in early" and the "5 lines of defense." The methodology suggested by the authors for when to play safe and when to take risk for the overtrick in match point play was also of major benefit.
I have purchased copies for 2 of my partners so my master point total can increase that much faster. I would recommend the book for any serious player, whether his/her game is match points, team, or rubber bridge.

I Love You This Much
Published in Hardcover by Zondervan (01 January, 2001)
Average review score:

Beautifully illustrates the love of God through a parent. The text rhymes beautifully. It's soothing. My one year old smiles as I read it to her. The story illustrates God's love in a simple, straight-forward way making it easy for little minds to understand.
I Love You This MuchMy 3 young daughters and I love this book. It's a beautifully written story. The illustrations are lovely. And, best of all, it comes with a cassette that has the entire story sung as lyrics to a lovely, lovely tune. I brought it to Sunday School to share with the preschoolers, and they were mesmerized through the entire storytelling session. As they listened to the song, they obviously found the tune very catchy and they joined in and sang the refrain without any prompting. This is a really special book accompanied by a really special song.
Pulls your heart stringsI purchased this book for my Grandson & Granddaughter. It was performed live at his pre-Kindergarten program at his church school by a young mother and her daughter. Now my grandchildren listen to the tape in their Daddy's car all the time and love reading the book. When they say, "I Love You This Much", they spread their arms wide apart, you get caught in a bear hug squeeze. Just wonderful.
